Writers:

I was asked, more than once, recently, what I read, the authors I like.  So here is a partial list of them.

Prose: Conan Doyle, CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, PR Wodehouse, Evelyn Waugh, Malcolm Muggeridge, James Stephens, Mark Twain, Ray Bradbury, John Steinbeck, Elizabeth Spencer

Verse: Robert Frost, Dylan Thomas, James Stephens, WB Yeats

Those are my favourites.  Of course, I do read many more than that, but the ones on the list above are such a joy to read that one can read them over and over.  With each reading my appreciation and joy of reading them increases.

I do read a lot of history as well.  My favourite there is Barry Cunfliffe.

I also read a lot of personal journals and diaries.  Those are real history and provide deep insight into life and times.  Two of my favourites are by David Crockett, Thomas Nutthall.

My list of lead guitar players that I consider the best and the ones I listen to daily.  Each player had their own unique sound and influenced music greatly.  Some might be surprised to see Stephen Stills and Carl Wilson on the list, but both had a very unique sound and impacted pop/rock music greatly.
